Lead the Current Version section with the Zenodo record for detailed variable descriptions, release notes, and downloads. Change the contact address to james.gearon@unc.edu.
The directory was named 'figures ' with a trailing space (inherited from upstream), forcing README image paths like 'docs/figures /'. Rename to docs/figures and update the logo and Fig1 links.
