Hi, I’m Gustavo Vazquez

About Me

I’m an iOS developer focused on turning real-world problems and curious ideas into practical, thoughtfully designed products using Swift and SwiftUI.

Great Visions is the name under which I build and share my software. My goal is to create apps that help people make clearer decisions, stay motivated, or experience something meaningful.

Along the way, I document the design decisions, technical challenges, mistakes, and lessons behind each project so other developers can follow the journey.

Featured Work

LeasePace

An iOS app that helps drivers monitor their lease mileage, understand their driving pace, and estimate potential end-of-lease overage costs.

LeasePace uses SwiftUI, SwiftData, MVVM, input validation, calendar-based calculations, previews, and focused testing. It is currently being tested and refined as I prepare it to become my first publicly launched app.

A fitness-powered narrative RPG that converts real-world steps into energy used to progress through branching stories.

The project combines HealthKit, persistent fitness statistics, achievements, data visualization, checkpoints, and choice-driven gameplay in a SwiftUI experience.

My original choice-driven SwiftUI story project.

Building Survive taught me the foundations of navigation, application state, and branching narrative design before the concept evolved into the flagship story experience inside Step By Step.

Technical Writing

I have contributed developer documentation across Swift, C++, and Dart, translating API behavior and technical concepts into concise explanations and practical examples.

I also publish development notes about the decisions, challenges, and lessons behind my own projects.

Toolkit

Primary: Swift, SwiftUI, Xcode, SwiftData, HealthKit

Applied: MVVM, Observation, state management, persistence, input validation, unit testing, Git, and GitHub

Additional experience: C++, Dart, C, Java, Python, SQL, HTML, and CSS

Currently

  • Testing and refining LeasePace
  • Preparing for my first complete iOS app launch
  • Strengthening my application architecture and testing skills
  • Documenting what I learn while building
  • Growing Great Visions into a home for future software projects

Connect

I’m open to junior and early-career iOS opportunities, project feedback, and conversations with other developers.
