Description
pretty sure this is a new request (mostly cause i wasnt sure what other ppl would call their requests)
anyway this is self explanatory... mostly, the idea is that missing files should retain their thumbnails and display some other way that somethings wrong, like half translucent-ing the unlinked svg over it or adding a red border to it. maybe if the file really is missing for the user they can track it down again using the thumbnail instead of guessing from the file name witch could be less than useful in some cases (like iOS photo dumps)
also this could work for ppl missing stuff like FFmpeg as Tag only requires it for thumbnails and the built in player . causee while it makes the program less useable they can still browse the library and just open the videos in an outside app that they do have, instead of guessing by the file name
also in the cases of removed hardrives ive heard thrown around, the thumbnails still working just the full res is missing can be useful
Solution
described above
Alternatives
cant think of anything tbh
